Results are in for last weekend’s competition!

Last Saturday (May the Fourth be with you), Pulse Climbing Adamstown had the pleasure of hosting Round 3 of the Tour de Corde climbing competition.

The Competition Series

Tour de Corde is a casual, 5-round, regional rope climbing competition. It’s suitable for everyone, from beginners to mad climbers.

The five rounds are at gyms around the state, including Woolongong, Sydney and Newcastle.

Participants don’t have to enter every round, although the overall series winners do get the best prizes!

The Preparation

The week before the comp, Jason Piper and his setting team worked super-hard so the gym was full of exciting new climbs. They were careful to make sure they had routes suitable for rookies, masters (aged 40+), little kids (youth E is for kids born 2009 or after) and the hardcore members of Open A!

They made sure the points allocated to each climb was fair, and then labelled everything.

We got the paperwork out and were ready to go!

The Competition Day

We welcomed competitors from as far away as Wollongong and Port Macquarie!

It was fun to see all the competitors putting in a great effort.

As always, Team Pulse had some great results. This included Melina Beecroft winning Masters Female, Xanthea Vazey coming second in Open Female, Sullivan McKenzie winning Rookie Male, Adam Bishop coming second in Masters Male, as well as Charlie Heath and Harrison King taking out Youth A & B Male respectively.

Thanks to everyone for making it such a great event.

What’s Next?

The next round of the competition will be in Wollongong on 15th of June. Hopefully we can get a good crew to go down together!

We’ll also be hosting a Grand Opening Bouldering Competition at our Warners Bay gym in the coming months. Woo!
