The Ultimate Indoor Training Ground

Looking for an activity that combines physical training, character development, and teamwork for Scouts or Guides? Pulse Climbing offers an engaging indoor rock climbing experience that goes beyond fun, supporting your program goals and preparing members for outdoor adventure challenges.

Why Choose Pulse Climbing for Your Group?

Rock climbing is the ideal activity to gain confidence for the outdoor pursuits that Scouts and Guides love.

All-Weather Training

Our indoor facilities guarantee a high-quality training session regardless of the conditions outside, making it the perfect year-round addition to your calendar.

Prepare for the Outdoors: Climbing builds essential techniques, footwork, and movement skills for scrambling, hiking, and future expeditions.

Physical and Mental Fitness: It develops strength, balance, and endurance while building focus, resilience, and problem-solving skills.

Engaging Teamwork and Leadership

Climbing challenges children physically and mentally, fostering development in key areas:

Physical Literacy: Enhances core strength, coordination, balance, and flexibility in a naturally engaging way.

Problem-Solving: Every route (or ‘problem’) is a puzzle, encouraging children to think critically, plan their moves, and execute strategies.

Confidence Building: The sense of achievement from reaching the top of a wall or completing a difficult route significantly boosts self-esteem and perseverance.

Teamwork and Communication: Children cheer each other on, offer movement suggestions, and develop trust, especially when collaborating on routes.

Collaborative Problem Solving: Climbers encourage each other, share movement tips, and work together to find the best way up a route, strengthening communication and group cohesion.

Goal Setting and Achievement: Each successful climb builds confidence and provides clear, measurable goals, ideal for badge requirements.

Easy Logistics for Group Leaders

We handle the heavy lifting so you can focus on mentorship and enjoying the activity.
Expert Safety: Every group booking includes Dedicated Pulse Staff who provide comprehensive safety briefings, instruction on equipment use, and continuous supervision to ensure a low-risk, high-reward experience.

no waiver, no climb

no waiver, no climb

no entry without a valid waiver
  • Any climber under 18 needs their waiver filled out by a parent/legal guardian
  • Please make sure your students have their waivers filled out before you arrive
  • The waivers are available here as well as in your booking confirmation email

safety and supervision

To make sure all participants stay safe during your booking, all entrants under 16 require supervision for the duration of the booking. Use the following supervision ratios as a guide:
  • (5 is our minimum climbing age)
  • 6-10 years = 1:2 supervision
  • 10-16 years = 1:5 supervision
  • Teachers/support staff who supervise and/or belay don’t need to pay entry unless they intend to climb.
We DO NOT accept: Teachers/caregivers/Support staff signing on behalf of parents, or handwritten “notes” from parents giving permission to climb

Trust and Belaying (Adamstown): For groups focused on rope work, our Adamstown facility provides the opportunity to learn and practice belaying, where one member’s safety depends on another’s diligence and trust—a profound lesson in responsibility and partnership.
