On Saturday Jas and Scotty from the Pulse Team took an awesome group out climbing on an Introduction to Sport Climbing Course. After spending a couple of hours at Pulse on Wednesday night working on some knot tying skills and theory the group of 8 headed to the Scout wall at Boat Harbour for some outdoor climbing adventures.
It was a freezing day but we had a beautiful sunny spot sheltered from the wind and spent the morning learning how to lead and clean the anchors of a sport climb and then abseil down again. Everyone picked up the skills easily and had multiple turns at leading and cleaning a climb before lunch.
After lunch we upped the ante and learnt about top rope anchor setup and climbed some higher and more difficult climbs, we also had some whales come and visit and put on a breaching show in appreciation of our climbing skills!
Congratulations to the group, who were quick learners and great fun. The team at Pulse is looking forward to seeing you out on rock or in the gym again soon!
Our next Intro to Sporting Climbing Course will be held on 10th and 13th August. Positions are limited to 6 so give us a call on (02) 4023 4743 to book your spot before it’s full.
