Callaghan College Wins School Competition

This term, a solid effort from Callaghan College Wallsend saw them win first place in our Inter-School Climbing Competition! The second-place winner, Merewether High, has some amazing individual climbers but was hampered by the less motivated members of the group.

The Callaghan College team was strongly supported and encouraged by their teacher, Ms Tull. She refused to let any of the student slack off or use their fear as an excuse for not trying!

I enjoyed watching the students try harder climbs as they increased their confidence, skills and strength over the term. Some members of the group liked to stick to the easier climbs, while others wanted to extend themselves on the roof climbs and harder slab climbs. Regardless of their skill level, they all tried to complete at least a few of the competition climbs each week.

Thanks to all the schools and students who participated in the Inter-School Climbing Competition this term. We like watching your efforts and your results. It was a fun term!
