Meet Team Cyclopath
Team Cyclopath consists of Pulse members Georgia Marjoribanks and Jesse Tribby, and Pulse staff members Chris Zaia and Britta Meany. This Sunday, November 5th, they will be cycling the 82km from Sydney to Wollongong (with 1059m of elevation gain) to raise money to support people living with Multiple Sclerosis.
Georgia and Jesse are keen regular cyclists, while Britta and Chris may find the event more challenging.
Britta is especially keen to help support people with MS after a 19 year old friend of hers was recently diagnosed with the disease. In Australia alone, four people are diagnosed with MS every working day, and it is a lifelong disease for which there is no cure. Since Multiple Sclerosis is a disease of the central nervous system, many sufferers find themselves with sensory problems such as tingling, vision loss, numbness and balance difficulties. Often this makes it increasingly difficult for sufferers to walk unassisted.
The annual MS Sydney to the Gong Ride funds support services for people living with the disease including a call centre, specialised advice from professionals and MS-specific education for both sufferers of MS and healthcare professionals.
Team Cyclopath wants to raise at least $2000. Together they have already raised over $1600 in online donations and even more in cash from personal fundraising and selling Cadbury chocolates.
If you would like to donate to this cause, you can find the team here.
Alternatively, if you would prefer to give cash donations, there is a donation box on the counter at Pulse Gosford and at Pulse Adamstown.
