Here comes the Festivus

Here comes the Festivus

On the weekend Tim and Aidan got an invite to go up to Beulah for a pre festival taster. In between torrential rain and lighting they managed to put up 3 new routes on the 18m high wall behind the donger, called Whale rock. Nothing to hard but some very friction dependant lines were established. Some with only 1 bolt for protection!! These lines are sure to keep the punters happy in the upcoming Easter festivis.

Whilst up there Tim and Aidan helped out getting a few things organised for this years festivis. New toilets are to be built around the camping areas and a number of new power outlets and lights have also been installed. A number of roads were also inaccessible making transport around the property only possible by quad bike and motor bike. Some work has already started to grade the roads to make it much more pleasant to drive around.

This year promises to be bigger and better than ever with a record number of climber and boulders predicted and some new events to take place, with one sponsored by us Pulse Climbing.

Tim and Aidan also helped spy out a line that will be used for this years sender of the slab. Word is that it may be a little easier than last year, so everyone is in with a chance to win the Tendon prize this year. Last years route is also still awaiting a first ascent and will have a prize for it’s ascent also.
